PSHS-MC holds 9th Graduation Exercises

Last March 24, 2000, the Philippine Science High School-Mindanao Campus held their 9th Commencement Exercises. All 88 senior students, led by Valedictorian Mary Joyce Sagayno, graduated. A DOST undersecretary delivered the speech made by Dr. Filemon Uriarte who, because of unknown cirscumstances, couldn't attend the ceremonies.

Ms. Sagayno delivered a very heart-warming speech reliving their fours years stay in PSHS-MC and paying homage, in behalf of her batchmates, to the people responsible for their successful completion of high school. Before the program ended the graduating batch sang their graduation song entitled "Forever Grateful" which was composed by Pamela Chan.

During the foundation celebration, they had a mr. and ms. millenium contest wherein the candidates only had to pose and project, no talent showcase, no q & a, nothing but modelling (NOTE: and to think they abolished Ms. Pisay and G. Tech 'coz those were "degrading"). It was organized by Ms. Elisa Javier. LV Mallari and Kit Clarito won.
The new basketball varsity now with a (hopefully) better coach joined the JS Cup, AGAIN (haven't they learned their lesson?)?!!! LV Mallari won as Ms. JS Cup (a little foreshadowing: we might get the sportsmanship award again).
The dominant theme in Pisay nowadays is the MILLENIUM (they have gotten tired of global competitiveness and excellence, haven't they?) NOTE: The millenium is supposed to start on January 1, 2001, right? (and I thought Pisay pipol knew better).
Mrs. Rochelle Papasin is the new Academic Chief.
A groundbreaking was recently held for the covered walk. (Seriously, are they sure about this. The gym isn't even finished yet and they are not doing anything about it and yet they have the initiative to start another ambitious project.) Note from somebody: Baka dumating nalang ang time na bumagsak sina Angie at Emerson sa P6 nila ay hindi pa rin matapos ang covered walk!!! I agree!
Its definite: Carla Agoilo is the new Bat Comm/Corp Comm, whatever. We wish her luck dont' we? Let's hope she doesn't have to deal with a fickle-minded commandant.
